Important Race Day Information
Parking:
Parking is readily available by the cafeteria, the front of the building, and the parking lot off Valley Road.
Race Day Registration:
Registration will close promptly at 7:45 am. Please plan to arrive early if you need to register on race day.
Race Bibs:
Both our 1 Mile Family Fun Run and 5k Race are chip timed events. The chip is located on the back of your race bib. In order to accurately time, and score, our events please be sure to adhere to the following:
-
Pin your bib on the outer most layer of clothing you are wearing during the race.
-
Please do not swap bibs with another participant. Doing so will skew the results and could interfere with participants receiving their correct race awards accordingly.
-
If you are running the 5k, please keep your bib away from the 1 Mile race start/finish as this will trip your bib on the 1 Mile and cause you to not receive a time for your 5k race.
Race Start & Course:
1 Mile Family Fun Run's race start and finish are located on the open field next to the tennis courts. The 5k race will begin on Rolling Rd by the tennis courts and will then wind through campus and finish at the same open field by the tennis courts. Both events are cross country style.
Restrooms:
Located inside the cafeteria.
Pups and Strollers:
Reminder that while we love your pups, and cannot wait for your babies to join our team one day, our race course cannot accommodate dogs or strollers.
Race Course: Our 5k course is two of the same loop with the exception of the first 400m. Please be sure to complete both loops. If you decide to only complete one loop, please do not run across the finish line as this will alter our race results and may impact awards.
Trail shoes or running shoes (as opposed to XC Spikes) are best suited for our race course.
The 1 Mile race course is one loop lined in a white dashed line. The 5k race course is lined with a solid white line throughout. Comet Cross Country runners will be located throughout the race course to help guide you.
Race Support:
MedStar Health will be on site to offer race day medical support.
Raffle & Awards: Please join us in the cafeteria post race where we are excited to giveaway a ton of raffle prizes and incredible awards to our top three overall male and female finishers and top finisher in each age group thanks to our wonderful local sponsors!
